CASE – 1
Name: ROHAN
Age: 16 years
Gender: Male
Disability: Deaf blindness

Rohan, with double disability was deserted by his parents. He is deaf and blind. But what the Lord has created, the Lord saves.

Rohan was found on the streets by an organisation called “Manav Sadhna” which works with street children. They were determined to help him but were totally helpless. They didn’t know how to deal with him, how to communicate with him and how to convey their concerns to him. Rohan on his part was totally frustrated and shell shocked. He didn’t know how to tell the world that he wanted to talk to them, play with them, eat with them or just enjoy with them. Luckily, he was housed at Naaz and still lives there to date.

He is now able to reach out to other resident children, identify them in his own special way. They in turn can communicate with him with signs and gestures and involve him in their day to day activities. He attends regular school at Naaz with non disabled children and is learning skills appropriate to his age and needs.

With the help from specialists and dedicated teachers at Naaz, today, Rohan is a happy teenager and can look forward to life denied to him before.
